Topic: Duplicates
I would like to know what any of you are using to find and remove duplicate tracks. I've been using Duplicate Detective, but I think it can't find duplicates with different names. I'm also worried it will select tracks with the same file name when the tracks are actually different.
I am using a Mac.

Thanks,

-Ron

@Ron, VirtualDJ already has a built in Duplicates Filter. It's in the Manual under Filters;

This is the effect using the Tag Duplicates on my system today. Obviously there are duplicates because of having the mp3 file and the video file. But, there are also duplicates that have different lengths i.e. the Radio edit and the extended version possibly.

This is where you have to manually choose which one to eliminate yourself.

No software can choose for you, only present to you what you have.

This is on my Mac BTW.

Thanks. I see it now. Is there any way to restrict the search for duplicates to just one folder, recursively?

Not that I'm aware of. The duplicates could be in different folders anyway.
