What I believe you are looking for is in the settings of VirtualDJ, under the "Automation" section, called "autoCue." The description says "automatically goes to the first cue or first beat when a song is loaded." Setting this to "cue" seems to load tracks to the first cue point set.

P.S. Searching for terms in the settings often helps me find if there is a setting or find a specific setting quicker. I searched "cue" to find this.

AutoCue acts only upon LOAD.
So, it makes the track jump to the first cue only when you load the track on the deck.
After that, it does not affect the deck at all.
At your video it's not possible to see what happens when you load the track.

So, can you please explaing EXACTLY what you're after ?

Finally keep in mind that since you use timecode, the track obviously does not jump back on cue when you stop the deck, because technically you don't "stop" the deck, but you "pause" it.

Huey, am I seeing correctly that some tracks do start from the cue when loaded, but some don't?

I want the track to always start on the first cue point if the track has one without having to stop the deck.

Hate to be that guy but it works that way with SDJ.

Forgive me but hasn't VDJ done that like forever?

Not sure about right now but at my gigs every track starts at cue 12 if it exists.

Gig machine is still on 7831 in case anything has changed since then ......

Are you loading tracks to a playing deck?

When he's loading the tracks, the deck is continuously playing (Phase timecode coming in).

YES, I never stop the deck

No to a empty deck. Ah is this to do with timecode?

Sorry I meant Cue 1

No it doesn't matter what your using, if the deck is set to continuously play it'll never start on cue point 1.

The times it does in my video, those tracks actually start there. Meaning no lead in time.

Serato? Then we don't want that, because then it's generally the wrong way...
Just kidding :)
VDJ does the same, except auto play isn't default
But yes, depending on the autoCue setting VDJ jumps to the first cue on load
And you can also set it to continue playing by setting keepPlayStatusOnLoadSong to YES
(you may want to also set loadSecurity to OFF)

The problem then is that keepPlayStatusOnLoadSong seems to be executed before the autoCue setting. So in that case the track still plays from the start

We can maybe put in a request to change that, or have an option for it

But until then you can set keepPlayStatusOnLoadSong back to no, and instead add a PLAY command to the onSongLoad mapping - for instance on the keyboard (since that is the controller that is always there)

Then the autoCue will trigger, and the song will start playing from the first cue point immediately after the jump to the cue

You probably still want to set loadSecurity to off

PS: If you then also enable "auto bpm match" and "auto sync on play", you get one giant beat mixing machine where you just throw tracks at decks :-D

EDIT: I have added the request:

It was indeed a bug that autoCue (and other automation) was not applied when keepPlayingStatus was enabled, or timecode was used and playing while changing songs.
